West Indies to Tour Pakistan in December for Three T20Is and ODIs
admin_criclife
West Indies are due to tour Pakistan for a white-ball series in December 2021. They will play three ODIs and three T20Is on tour in which Karachi will host all the matches. One of the three ODIs will count within the World Super League cycle ahead of the 2023 World Cup.
By confirming that the tour would go ahead as planned, Cricket West Indies has sought lay to rest any concerns regarding cricket in Pakistan following the cancellation of NZ’s scheduled tour of Pakistan in September. Citing security concerns, the NZ squad withdrew on day one of the tour, throwing the home season of the host country into jeopardy. England followed in the footsteps of New Zealand by cancelling their tour of Pakistan scheduled to be held in October.
West Indies last played in Pakistan in 2008. They played three T20Is, all of which were hosted in Karachi. At the time, several key West Indian players chose not to tour. This time around, West Indies expect to field a full-strength squad.
