Minor League Cricket has received a boost with Toyota announcing its sponsorship of the 2021 MILC inaugural championship season. Minor League Cricket, along with the owners of its 27 participating teams, has invested over $4 million in the staging of this tournament that is touted as the most expensive tournament American cricket has ever witnessed.

Matt Ozawa, the manager of asset management and activation at Toyota Motor North America, has said in a media release, “We’re honored to be part of the first-ever Minor League Cricket season and to help support the growth of the sport as it embarks on its most extensive competition to ever take place in the United States. We look forward to joining the league, its athletes, cricket lovers and Toyota fans across the country for a historic inaugural championship season.”
MoMost Lucrative Cricket Competition in America
trong>The competition will be spread over 10 weekends and feature matches in the T20 format which is popular across the world. The final will be played on the weekend of October 2 and 3. With the prize money of US$250,000 up for grabs, the league has become the most lucrative cricket competition ever in America. The 27 teams participating in the league will compete across four divisions divided geographically into Eastern, Central, Southern and Western, with 200 matches set to be played in 21 cities across the nation.
