The two sides met in the league match on 13 June in Abu Dhabi. In that game, United batted first and got off to a very bad start, losing 5 wickets for 20 runs. Then came a stand of 123 between Iftikhar Ahmed and Asif Ali. After Ali got out in the 19th over with the score card reading 143 for 6, United added 9 more runs to finish at 152/7.
