The two sides last played a complete game in the second T20 of the series on 31 July at Providence. Pakistan batted 1st October and got off to a good start with an opening stand of 46 and 4.4 overs before Sharjeel Khan got out. M Rizwan was joined at the wicket by skipper Babar Azam and the two put on 67 runs for the second wicket. With the scoreboard reading 113 for two in 14.2 overs, Pakistan were well poised to mount a huge score. But as it transpired, a late order collapse restricted the final score to 157 for eight. Babar Azam made 51 to 40 balls while Rizwan got 46 from 36. For West Indies, Jason Holder with four for 26 was the best bowler while Dwayne Bravo took two for 24.
When West Indies replied they began badly losing Andre Fletcher’s wicket to the second ball of the innings without scoring but a couple of good stands later they were 70 for three in the 12th over. However, despite a good partnership between Nicholas Pooran and Kieron Pollard they finished seven run short of Pakistan’s score. Pooran made an unbeaten 62 off 47 balls while Evin Lewis scored 35 from 33. For Pakistan, Mohammed Hafeez, Shaheen Afridi, Hasan Ali, and Mohammad Wasim took one wicket each.
