The two sides last met in a vitality blast match in a quarter-final at Nottingham on 1 October 2020. In that game, Leicestershire batted first and were off to a bad start losing three wickets for only 22 runs. Then came a partnership of 66 between Ackermann and Swindells. After Ackermann got out in the 15th over, Hill and Swindells got together in a 36-run stand which helped take the score to 124 for 5 in the 19th over. Leicester managed to add 15 more runs to finish at 139 for 7 in their allotted overs. Swindells top scored with 58 from 43 balls, while Ackermann made 43 from 33.
