Capable of scoring prolifically, Wheater had an impressive 87 versus Worcestershire in the county championship. In the previous Vitality Blast game versus Kent on 20 June, he top scored with 46 and stood tall among the ruins in a match that Essex lost by 67 runs. As an opening batsman, he gets more balls to prove his mettle.
BatBatsmen
rong>Lawrence brings his international experience to the table for Essex and fills the first batting slot in our dream11. It does help that Lawrence can bowl a bit if required to do so. Crawley and Drummond have been Kent’s best batsmen throughout the county season and are set to do the same in the VB games. Crawley made 69, while Drummond contributed 88 in match winning efforts in the previous game versus Essex on 20 June. Like Crawley, Denly has international experience playing for England. He has also got into a wicket taking habit with his occasional bowling.
AllroAllrounders
ng>Walter and Harmer are the go-to men for Essex, whether with the ball or the bat, as they proved time and again in the county season. In the previous game against Kent, Walter took 1/21 to display his bowling potential, while Harmer contributed 31 with the bat. Kent’s Jack Leaning has arguably been the most impressive allrounder this county season. In the VB games, he has given us more proof of his ability, especially in the previous game against Essex when he made a match-winning 42 and took 3/15.
BowlersBowlers
>S. Cook has been among consistently among the wickets for Essex in the county season. His performance against Warwickshire in April, wherein he took 13 wickets comes to mind. In the VB game against Notts on 20 June, he bowled restrictively to take 1/33, becoming one of the few Essex bowlers to command respect. No dream11 involving Kent can be complete without mention of Milnes, the outstanding bowler for his team this season. Milnes’ 2/30 against Essex on 20 June was another exemplary show. Grant Stewart has been a standout bowler for Kent this VB season as his recent performances against Glamorgan (2/19) and Somerset (3/33) have shown.
