During the 2-year cycle that spanned from 2019 to 2021, here’s a list of some of the most proficient batsmen who have amassed the most runs in the World Test Championship.

It’s surprising to know that the list of top run-getters in the ICC World Test Championship does not feature even one New Zealand batsman, the team that ended up winning the inaugural edition of the World Test Championship by defeating team India. Australian batsman Marnus Labuschagne leads the list in terms of the most runs scored in the World Test Championship. In the 13 matches that he featured in during the 2019-21 cycle, he scored a total of 1675 runs at a phenomenal average of 72.82. His strike rate of 55.85 meant that he was constantly able to rotate strike while he was the crease. His highest score of 215 was the highlight of his consistent batting performances as Labuschagne went on to score 5 centuries and 9 half-centuries during the World Test Championship.
